Production Chain Enhancement

Using a methodology developed by the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae, for its initials in Portuguese), the program fosters the competitiveness and productivity of Votorantim’s network of suppliers.

Primary target

  • Micro and small businesses with relationships with the large company
  • Existing suppliers or customers

The initiative works to improve business performance, increase competitiveness and reduce dependence on Votorantim. As a result, it improves the quality of products and services offered by micro and small local companies. In 2015, more than 2,000 hours of training were offered to Votorantim suppliers, which included assessments and consulting.

Empowering Local Entrepreneurs

In another joint initiative with Sebrae, complementary to the Production Chain Enhancement program, this methodology works to empower local entrepreneurs.

The program offers individual and small-group workshops for business development and improvement, focusing on the formalization and sustainable growth of their initiatives.

After technical training, the local committee selects business plans that receive start-up seed capital.
